The Falls Festival Tasmanian Events Calendar

Welcome to a new and exciting world of events in 2011.

In this, our sixth edition E-Newsletter, we feature our Event Development Program and the launch of the 2012 Grants Program.

In 2010 the Grants Program helped over 100 events in Tasmania to attract around 30,000 visitors to our island. These visitors are important to the Tasmanian community. Check out our grant program to see if your event is eligible to receive funding support.

The 2010 Development Program was very successful with most activities fully subscribed, so don't delay in registering for the upcoming workshops, and remember these are conducted free of charge to event organisers.

Jill Gael - Presenter of Successful Facilitation Workshop

The Development Program kicks off the year with Jill Gael's return to Tasmania on Wednesday 2 March in Launceston and Friday 4 March in Hobart. Jill will deliver her highly practical and engaging one-day Successful Facilitation workshop to help event organisers polish their skills. This workshop, being held in partnership with the Australian Business Arts Foundation, is free to Tasmanian event organisers.

To book your place, contact our office on info@eventstasmania.com or by phone on 6233 5946.

The Digital Coach Program was introduced last year by Tourism Tasmania to help event organisers improve their online skills. The program is being continued in 2011.

If you are interested in a career in events, Events Tasmania is sponsoring three Scholarships at the Australian Centre for Event Management (ACEM).

In 2011 three positions are offered to attend the Executive Certificate in Event Management - one each for a local council employee, an event employee, and a volunteer event manager. This might just be the opportunity you are looking for to boost your skills and knowledge or even personal development. If you know someone that fits the bill then get them to call and register their interest. Applications close on Monday 9 May.
