Welcome to the second edition of the Events Tasmania E-Newsletter. Your response to the first edition was extremely positive and we welcome your feedback and comments.
This edition features editorial on the impact and value of events to the business sector and also information about workshops featured in 2010.
Kim Skildum-Reid will present live workshops in Hobart and Launceston in March, following her successful Power Sponsorship webinar series, and in June, Gillian Minervini presents "Green" events and sustainability practices.

Event Development Program for 2010

The Events Tasmania Event Development Program booklet for January - June is available now and offers some great opportunities for those willing and able to take up new learning possibilities! Workshops include Kim Skildum-Reid's dynamic Power Sponsorship in Launceston and Hobart in March, quoted by Natasha Hirtzel from Air New Zealand as "The best workshop I've ever been on"; Maintaining Web Sites in Devonport, Hobart and Launceston; and in June presenter Gillian Minervini, Creative Director/Producer - Events for the City of Sydney is back workshopping the creative practicalities of major 'green' events.
Australian Business Arts Foundation (AbaF) Workshops
AbaF will again present a range of workshops. Those on offer include Business Case Approach - level 1, 17 February 2010; Mentoring Clinic - Media Strategy, 10 March 2010; Applying to Foundations, 24 March 2010 and Making the Most of Partnerships - Level 2 & 3, 14 April 2010.

Volunteering Tasmania Grant Writing Workshops
In 2010 Volunteering Tasmania will offer volunteer organisations access to grant writing workshops, providing advice and guidance in developing and proof reading of grant applications.

Events Tasmania Grants Program
The 2011 Events Tasmania Grants programs will open on 1 February 2010. Information will be available on the website from that date and a copy of the program will also be mailed to you. www.eventstasmania.com
Please note that Diane Byrne, the Manager of the Grants Program is leaving Events Tasmania to take up an opportunity in the greater Department of Economic Development Tourism and the Arts Agency, as from the start of 2010. We wish Diane all the best for the future.

Sport and Recreation Tasmania
Sport & Recreation Tasmania provides funding to organisations to increase participation opportunities for Tasmanians in sport and recreation activities. For more details as to where your event might fit in go to www.development.tas.gov.au/sportrec.
Tasmanian Community Fund
Community organisations that are in a position to make a difference by enhancing well-being and improving social, environmental and economic outcomes for the Tasmanian Community can apply for funding. Guidelines for the next general grant funding round will be available late January 2010. Round opens on 13 February and closes 24 March 2010. Further information is available at www.tascomfund.org.
